Christopher E. Sonne, PE, LEED AP
Chris graduated from Virginia Tech in 1985 with his Civil Engineering degree. He has over 25 years of engineering experience, and has worked as a civil engineering consultant and as an environmental engineer for heavy industry (iron foundry). In April, 2007 he started Civil & Environmental Services, LLC to provide design and consulting services with an emphasis on sustainable design and Low-Impact Development.
He is a licensed Professional Engineer, and a LEED Accredited Professional. He also serves as Board Chair to the James River Green Building Council (JRGBC), which is the Central Virginia chapter of the US Green Building Council.
Project design experience has included projects ranging from residential subdivisions and municipal wastewater treatment plants to industrial hazardous waste treatment and permitting.
Personal interests include Adaptive Snowsports (Chris is an AASI Level I Certified Adaptive Snowboard Instructor with Wintergreen Adaptive Skiing), Blacksmithing, Cycling, and Homebrewing.
